Sarah E. Paul
Associate
Sarah Paul has experience in a broad range of state and federal litigation matters, including complex commercial and financial disputes, unfair competition actions, securities enforcement matters, and internal investigations.
Notable cases include defense of a major investment bank against allegations of fraud, negligence, and breach of fiduciary duty relating to the liquidity crisis and collapse of a prominent nationwide insurer; representation of a publicly-traded power line company in a series of lawsuits alleging trade secret misappropriation, violation of non-compete covenants, and tortious interference with contract; representation of an international pharmaceutical company in a breach of contract action relating to the marketing and distribution of a nutritional beverage; and defense of a national home builder and several of its officers in a shareholder derivative suit and multiple securities class actions.
Dedicated to pro bono work, Ms. Paul previously represented a woman convicted of capital murder in Alabama, petitioning a federal court for a writ of habeas corpus on her behalf. Currently, Ms. Paul is pursuing an appeal in the Second Circuit that challenges the constitutionality of a prisoner's Hobbs Act conviction and is representing an individual in New York City Criminal Court who has been charged with assault. |
