Jason T. Mogel
Partner
Jason Mogel has extensive experience representing institutions and individuals in a broad range of litigation matters, including complex commercial disputes, intellectual property litigation, securities enforcement investigations, white collar criminal proceedings, and internal investigations. Mr. Mogel has represented clients before federal and state courts as well as in appellate proceedings and alternative dispute resolution.
Mr. Mogel previously served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alaska, where he had trial experience and briefed and argued cases before the Alaska Supreme Court. One victory at trial was the successful defense of a prisoner's claim against the State of Alaska, which the Alaska Supreme Court affirmed.
Representative matters include representation of a group of foreign and domestic financial institutions in securities fraud litigation against a major U.S. bank to recover losses relating to the purchase of asset-backed securities, with partners David Spears and Christopher Dysard; representation of a Chief Financial Officer of a Fortune 100 corporation in parallel criminal and civil investigations conducted by the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission; representation of a hedge fund in regulatory proceedings and civil litigation in connection with mutual fund market timing; defense of the State of Alaska Tort Reform Act before the Alaska Supreme Court; and representation of an Internet advertising company in patent infringement litigation.
Mr. Mogel is committed to pro bono work and has represented a number of individuals in criminal appellate proceedings. |
